We have been

DESIGN Professionals. The client is setting up a Design Center in New Delhi. The

Job Description:
Working with
their crack Hardware Design Engineers, the incumbent will be responsible for
designing a range of multi-layer mixed technology PCBs using the
latest CADstar PCB design tools. PCBs
vary from simple 2 layer boards to multi-layer (upto 14) and should be
familiar with the layout and design of high-speed signals, balanced pairs,
transmission line theory and various signal terminations (e.g.
Thevenins, AC, Parallel, Series, etc...).
High component
densities using THT and SMT mean that PCBs will need to be hand routed
and the incumbent should also be familiar with good EMC practice and
techniques as well as being familiar with the Low Voltage Directive
and the necessary creepage and clearance requirement for global safety
certification. SMT component technology include SOIC, TSOP, xQFP, BGA and
microBGA (amongst many others) and should be familiar with the IPC
standards defining these as well as conventional THT components.
As a member of
the Hardware team the incumbent will be expected to contribute to the
successful design of products by making recommendations and suggestions and
be flexible in your approach to design.
The position
also involves the generation of PCB assembly documentation, mechanical and
assembly drawings and, when necessary, liase with the production team
to ensure that the products are suitable for manufacture. Most of the
clients manufacturing is done in the far east and so good production
techniques are essential.
This role is particularly suited to self-motivated individuals who can use
their own initiative and be able to work unsupervised. As short development
timescales are a key part of our strategy, a "right first time"
approach is essential and team members may be quickly involved in many
different projects.

Hardware Design Requirements:
Working along
side their Hardware Design Engineers in UK, the
candidate would be responsible for designing and
developing products to add to their existing range of Broadband VoIP
Gateway products. Using the latest Schematic entry and Verilog
design tools to assist in designing highly integrated broadband
products. Products vary from residential cost sensitive 2-port
POTS devices to 60-channel multi-functional PRI SME VoIP Gateways.
Candidates
should be familiar with 16-bit and 32-bit processor architectures and
have experience of high speed digital design. Knowledge of telecom
interfaces, such as POTS, ISDN and DSL, will be advantageous as
will knowledge of Wireless LAN (i.e. IEEE 802.11x) and Verilog for
CPLD and FPGA design.
The role
requires the Engineer to be self motivated and disciplined as the
successful candidate will have complete responsibility for the completing
any project unsupervised,
this includes generating the full product specification, schematic
entry, liaise with and supervise PCB layout, generation of BOMs, releasing
of material to manufacturing for prototype and full production
builds, product verification, product approval
process, supporting the production team during the life of the
product and project management to ensure the products are completed on
time.
A successful
candidate must be familiar with good EMC practice and techniques as well
as having good knowledge of the EU Low Voltage
Directive. Taking products through the international approval process
is a requirement of the role, so understanding global approval
requirements for product certification is a must. Most of their
